For the past year and a half, American Art Research Fellow Dr. Grant Hamming has been researching CFAM’s collection of historical American art, which includes works ranging from eighteenth century portraitist Gilbert Stuart to 1980s wunderkind Jean-Michel Basquiat—and beyond. Dr. Hamming will present the results of his research, which was funded by a grant from the Henry Luce Foundation, including exciting discoveries, surprising connections, and an overall picture of the collection’s depth and breadth. Join us as we learn more about American art at CFAM!
