Russian Ballet Orlando presents La Bayadère Ballet

Description

One of the best dramatic love stories ever performed on theater stage. Set in legendary India, La Bayadere tells the story of the doomed love between the noble warrior, Solor, and the beautiful temple dancer, Nikiya. Solar swears his love to Nikiya over the Gods of fire, before finding out that his faith was already pre arranged to be married to a beautiful and evil Gamzatti. As most love stories are told, there will be drama and wrath, and at the end the love between Solar and Nikiya will be reunited.

Russian Ballet Orlando puts a twist of new choreography on a 141 year old classical ballet. Originally premiered in St. Petersburg, Russia on February 4th, 1877 at the Mariinsky Theater.
