The Opportunity:
WUCF's Director of Content provides strategic leadership to WUCF and the mission to serve as Central Florida Storytellers. The Director of Content is responsible for all local and national content across all broadcast, digital and various online platforms. This position leads the acquisition, curation, development, creation and evaluation of all content streams for WUCF TV & FM. This position oversees the content team responsible for the creation of local content including the production team, the content team and the education team.
The Director of Content works closely with the WUCF Strategy Team to ensure content aligns with our mission, expands our audiences, engages with our community and serves our education purpose.
Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership for content strategy across all platforms, including: broadcast, website, social media, mobile, etc.
- Supervises content, production and education services staff members.
- Reports to and works closely with the Executive Director to determine content priorities and is responsible or implementing and reporting on progress, including Nielsen ratings and online engagement reports.
- Directs content acquisition strategy and provides leadership for staff who execute those strategies.
- Responsible for the research and analysis of data to monitor use and viewership, plus audience satisfaction to further grow viewers.
- Provides leadership for the WUCF education team. Ensures that local production meets education standards and is distributed on various platforms.
- Responsible for assuring all content adheres to editorial standards in coordination with Managing Producer and Broadcast Production Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years of leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated interest and competency in technology and digital platforms are strongly preferred, as this position is very technologically inclined.
- Strong analytical skills, understanding, and monitoring of analytics to drive business decisions.
